On January 19, 2022, information appeared that Huawei she had found a way to circumvent the ban on use Google Pay in her smartphones. The Chinese company announced its partnership with - fintechstartup Curve, which allows you to make contactless payments in stores using a chip with wireless data transfer technology on Huawei devices with HMS services. Thus, users bypassing the restrictions Google got the opportunity to pay for purchases by bringing their Huawei gadgets to cash terminals.

As explained in Huawei, the Curve service is a smart wallet that collects all user credit and debit cards in one place to simplify the management of payments in stores, thus being a direct analogue for Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Huawei is installing a payment feature with wireless data transfer technology on its devices using the Curve Pay card consolidation application. Huawei was one of the first levers of pressure on the China US government as part of the trade war, it was unleashed by the former president USA Donald Trump in 2018.

All Huawei users in Europe can now download Curve Pay to start making mobile payments, with an additional advantage. The company also provides cashback to its users in the form of 1% for all third-party purchases made by phone, as well as 5% in Huawei online stores in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and the UK.

The agreement with Huawei is similar to the previous deal concluded between Curve and Samsung, which allows the Korean company to use Google Pay as part of its payment ecosystem. Huawei users from January 2022 will have one digital wallet for all their cards, as well as the ability to view all expenses with useful information, budget and control settings. If users of devices from Huawei decide that they paid with the wrong card, then users will be able to transfer past payments from one account to another using the function from Curve Pay.[1]
