2022: Release NeuVector

On January 31, 2022, the company, SUSE a provider of software products based on, announced the open source release of NeuVector, a software platform. The safety containers NeuVector code base has become available to the developer community on. GitHub The disclosure of this source code previously proprietary technology was another confirmation of SUSE's commitment to culture free software and fulfillment of the promise to offer customers relevant open solutions.

NeuVector is a free platform that provides comprehensive container safety. This solution allows you to run container applications in a zero trust environment. In the three months since the completion of the acquisition of the NeuVector, SUSE has resolved all technical and legal issues and has been able to make the code of this platform open.

NeuVector solutions are well known and used throughout the world. The disclosure of source code not only makes them available to the free software community, but also increases the level of trust on the part of users. This is especially important where there is a strict legislative regulation in the field of information security, for example, in public authorities.

The container images NeuVector have become open software and can be deployed to any Kubernetes cluster. SUSE Rancher users can install them from the application directory. In future releases, the integration of these two products will become even tighter. NeuVector developers follow the same strategy as SUSE and offer a solution for many well-known container management solutions - SUSE Rancher, Red Hat OpenShift, VMware Tanzu, Google GKE, Amazon EKS, Microsoft Azure AKS and others.

NeuVector brings advances in container safety to SUSE Rancher. This can significantly affect the entire Kubernetes ecosystem, which has traditionally been dominated by proprietary IBs.

The NeuVector project allows SUSE Rancher users to provide the required level of security throughout the application lifecycle and to perform all the necessary tasks for this: network segmentation, traffic monitoring and analysis, scanning vulnerabilities in containers, managing their configuration and checking for compliance, risk profiling, threat detection and response to IB incidents. These capabilities enhance SUSE Rancher's built-in security mechanisms.

Once fully integrated with SUSE Rancher, NeuVector will allow customers to guarantee the security of their applications deployed on any CNCF-certified Kubernetes distribution, both in their own data centers and in the cloud or on the periphery, throughout their lifecycle.
