2022: Launch of satellite system for power line monitoring

In January, 2022 in Russia the satellite system for monitoring of power lines (power line) "Gonets-Impuls" was started. This is the development of the Gonets Satellite System JSC, it allows you to quickly collect and transmit data on the state of electrical networks and pipelines through the Gonets satellite communication channel from any remote regions of the country.

The complex includes a satellite terminal, sensors, a computer and a solar panel. It is assumed that the complex will be able to monitor lines, record data, conduct their primary processing and transmit them to the server. Communication is carried out using the satellite communication channel "Gonets."

According to the technical director of Impulse LLC Ilya Storozhev, in case of an emergency, the complex will send an emergency message to the mobile application of the emergency team with specific coordinates of the network section. Among other parameters, the solution allows you to collect data on transmitted volumes of electricity, which allows you to prevent illegal actions and optimize the operational parameters of the network.

Three Gonets-Impulse complexes in pilot operation in January 2022 were launched in the Sverdlovsk region. According to Roskosmos, in the first few days of work they showed successful results: all data on the state of electric networks are transmitted on time and in full.

In addition, by the end of January 2022, testing of the Gonets-Impulse system in the Chechen Republic was completed, the decision to apply which was made by the Ministry of Economic, Territorial Development and Trade of Chechnya in December 2021. The pilot project has high results, the equipment will be installed on the power line in the region.^[1]
