2022: Investing 17 million rubles in the production of surgical threads in the Sverdlovsk region
Novoteks Company (a subsidiary of Medin-N LLC invests 17 million rubles in the production of surgical threads in the Sverdlovsk Region. This became known at the end of January 2022.
Novotex intends to manufacture Lavsan and Kapron surgical threads in the form of non-sterile products. Their diameter is 0.1-0.9 mm. At the first stage, the company will supply the products of the parent company Medin-N to Yekaterinburg for further deliveries to medical institutions.
As explained in the company, filaments are used at nominal temperature values from 32 ° C to 42 ° C inside human organs and cavities with the presence of biological fluids, tissue and skin secretions in them. Modification of the manufactured products is possible by expanding the size of the manufactured threads, as well as applying functional coatings to the threads. In addition, Lavsan and Capron woven yarns are also suitable for other medical strands, such as the Sabfil woven resorbable yarns.
As the head of Atom-TOR JSC Nikolai Pegin noted, the project is aimed at import substitution, since today more than half of the market for surgical sutures in the country is provided with imported products and raw materials. He expressed confidence that the available technologies and production experience of Medin-N LLC will allow to establish the production of a high-quality product in demand on the market in accordance with the schedule, and the benefits provided at TOSER will provide the company with competitive advantages.[1]
