2022: Laptop Announcement

In early February 2022, the Craob startup introduced the unusual ultra-thin Craob X laptop, a feature of which was the absence of any connectors. The manufacturer said that it would begin selling the novelty in the near future, but did not name the specific dates and cost of the product at the time of the announcement.

All required ports for the device, such as USB Type-C, USB Type-A, Thunderbolt and SD card slots, as well as a universal audio connector, are located on a special external wireless power supply that is attached to the laptop using a magnet. There are no details such as battery capacity and charging power at the beginning of February 2022, as Notebookcheck notes, these technologies are under development.

Craob X - notebook without connectors

Craob X has a mass of 861 grams and a thickness of 7 mm. Ultrabook is equipped with a 13.3 ″ screen with a resolution of 4K. Despite the thin chassis, there is a fairly productive iron inside: the powerful Intel Core i7-1280P (14 cores/20 threads) Alder Lake family with 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive. To connect to the Internet, the high-speed standard Wi-Fi 6E is used, 14 new 80 MHz channels, plus 7.1 thousand. MHz channels, but the main difference is that only WiFi 6E devices are capable of operating in the 6 GHz range.

The ultrabook includes a wireless magnetic charger, this small box is not a conventional USB hub, but a magnetic charger. The device must be placed on the back of the screen to charge the Craob X. Notebookcheck asks how the ultrabook will cope with heating the components and what cooling system the company has chosen.[1]
