2022: Implementation of CDC-F technology in Moscow region

PJSC MTS"" in collaboration Nokia with Corp. introduced CDC-F technology on the core optical transport network Moscow in the region, which tripled the capacity of MTS transport infrastructure and reduced transmission delays. data This was announced by Nokia on February 2, 2022. This will make it more accessible and flexible to organize high-speed channels for MTS business customers and will simplify the implementation of projects to provide channels for and. DPC cloud services

A feature of this network architecture is software-defined signal processing at the electronic and photon level, which converts static optical networks into automated flexible and high-efficiency infrastructures. At the same time, such an architecture requires half the capacity and area for equipment compared to previously used static optical multiplexers.

Through the use of CDC-F technology, MTS doubled the efficiency of using the optical range of the DWDM transport network, and tripled - up to 32,400 Gb/s - increased the throughput of the network core. Thanks to this, the company will be able to simplify the implementation of projects to provide channels for data centers and cloud services and quickly satisfy requests for high-speed channels of 100, 200 and 400 Gb/s, the number of which has doubled over the past two years in the Moscow region. In addition, with the launch of commercial 5G networks, optical traffic routing technology will allow any amount of data from tens of millions of devices operating in real time to be passed with minimal delays.

Over the past two years, we have seen more than 80% growth in traffic in the network of the metropolitan region. We expect that the growth rate will continue both due to the wider use of technologies by our customers, as well as due to the upcoming launch of 5G networks and the growth in the number of devices connected to the Internet. The use of this technology will optimize and more efficiently use the existing optical infrastructure and ensure the growing needs of users of IT services in the speed, quality and volume of data traffic, as well as quickly and with minimum costs build a fifth-generation network, "said Vladislav Medvedev, Technical Director of the MTS Moscow region.

We are pleased to cooperate with MTS in the development of the company's transport infrastructure. The introduction of 5G technology will require a transition to a new technological level of all elements of the network infrastructure. Nokia solutions in the field of optical transport networks offer telecom operators everything they need to create an efficient, economical and environmentally friendly communication network on the way to 5G, "commented [Russo Demetrio Russo
