2022: Opening the center

MedInvest Group opened a radiation therapy center in Omsk, in which it invested about 350 million rubles. The company itself announced this on February 4, 2022.

According to the press service of MedInvest Group, the project was implemented in close cooperation with the government of the Omsk region. The funds provided by the company went to repair the premises and purchase new medical equipment, including a linear accelerator for radiotherapy of the Halcyon model from Varian. The apparatus allows carrying out radiotherapy with visual control and obtaining two-dimensional and three-dimensional images during the procedure, thereby increasing accuracy of radiation delivery to the tumor. Accelerator capacity reaches 1000 patients per year.

The imaging system built into Halcyon allows you to perform treatment with high accuracy and track the patient's position throughout the treatment session. Also, due to the design features, Halcyon can have a record high speed. This will allow treating a large flow of patients in need of care, the press release said.

The project involves the organization of a network of centers with linear accelerators in the regions and the creation of a clinical educational center.[1]
