In early February 2022, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to which he allocated 296.4 million rubles to the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia for the expansion of the fleet of sanitary aviation.
The money will be used to purchase a leased specialized aircraft to provide emergency medical care to citizens of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100). Its interior has three modular versions of the medical configuration. The aircraft is designed to evacuate citizens in need of urgent medical care from inaccessible places and from the territories of foreign countries. The board is designed for transportation from 87 to 108 passengers for a range of 3050 or 4600 km. It is noted that annually sanitary aviation evacuates about a thousand such patients.
According to the press service of the Cabinet, the allocated funds will be used to pay leasing payments under the financial lease agreement until 2034. As follows from the order of the Government of the Russian Federation, more than 296 million rubles will be allocated annually for these purposes.
The funds will be sent to the Federal Medical Biophysical Center named after A.I. Burnazyan FMBA of Russia, whose responsibility is the All-Russian Center for Disaster Medicine (VCMK) "Protection." This center served as a specialized service of disaster medicine until March 1, 2021. The center was engaged in the organization of medical assistance in emergency situations, including the elimination of epidemic centers, was responsible for training in the provision of medical care in disaster situations, for providing its own activities and logistics.
FMBA will receive the aircraft SuperJet 100-95B with serial number 95211. The plane was released by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft JSC in 2021, the aircraft made its first flight in April 2021.[1]
