2022: UK opened a case after the death of 4 children in the oncology department of the hospital

In February 2022, the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR) opened a criminal case in connection with the death of four children in the Novosibirsk Clinical Central District Hospital, located in the working village of Krasnobsk. According to preliminary data, children lying in the oncology department did not die of cancer.

According to TASS, citing a source in the authorities, a case has been instituted under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code ("The provision of services that do not meet the requirements of safety of life and health of consumers, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence, the maximum penalty for it is 10 years in prison). Information about the initiation of the case was confirmed in the regional investigation department of the TFR, without specifying the circumstances of the case. The chairman of the TFR, Alexander Bastrykin, put the course of the investigation under control in the central apparatus of the department.

In a criminal case, a set of necessary investigative actions is being carried out, examinations have been appointed. The reasons and conditions that contributed to the commission of the crime are established, the press service of the RF IC reports.

According to the newspaper Arguments and Facts, as mothers said, their children did not die from cancer, but from infections picked up in a medical institution. The mother of one of the patients said that for five days the girl was dying. Her kidneys could not cope, every hour it became worse, and the doctors did not sound the alarm earlier. With the same symptoms, other children were in intensive care. According to parents, sepsis aggravated the condition of patients in the hospital. A group was created in social networks where they communicate about the course of the investigation and say that they will reach the end to prove the guilt of the doctors.

The best oncologists from Moscow came to the center to give their recommendations. After the scandal, the head of the department Karen Hasikyan resigned from the department of pediatric oncohematology of his own free will.^[1]
