2022: Implementation of a virtual reality simulator-based training and simulation system
NNTC, a software developer and solution provider in the UAE, and its strategic partner, Kroc, a player in the complex IT solutions market, announced on February 14, 2022 the introduction of a virtual reality simulator (VR )-based training and simulation system in the Department of Drainage Networks and Treatment Facilities of Dubai Municipality in Jebel Ali. The features and scale of the training system, containing detailed virtual copies of structures based on the advanced technological development of virtual reality HTC VIVE, make its implementation special not only in the region, but also outside it.
According to the NNTC study, training on VR simulators increases the degree of memorization of educational materials by almost 75%, the speed of work by 30%, and its accuracy by 96%. A recent study also showed that 82% of the 600 companies surveyed either achieved or surpassed the results expected after the introduction of VR simulators.
Dubai is increasingly implementing smart city applications and digital technologies to improve efficiency, security and sustainable infrastructure development. The VR simulators we are developing, for example, just built for the municipality of Dubai, allow enterprises to train workers in a safe digital environment. Employees can practice technological procedures and operations for the maintenance and operation of equipment, as well as conduct emergency training. They can master skills without increased risk and without affecting the production process, "said Dmitry Doschaniy, CEO of NNTC. |
As part of the project, a training center was created for the municipality of Dubai, as well as training and training systems for maintenance and operation skills based on digital twins and mathematical models of technological processes. More than 7,000 interactive items in total. Training is conducted using HTC Vive VR headsets, which allow users to navigate 3D models and perform educational tasks.
The aim of the Dubai Municipality Virtual Reality Training Center is to increase the productivity of personnel at treatment plants by 7% due to the development of skills in the VR system, as well as to halve the impact of the human factor through the use of specialized training programs with support for VR technologies. As a result, savings on maintenance and operation costs will be 5% of the budget allocated for this purpose. These measures will also reduce the downtime of equipment and treatment systems by 30% as a result of accidents, which will positively affect the amount and quality of treated water.
Training using virtual reality technology is a powerful tool that develops skills, muscle memory and reduces equipment downtime. But the most important thing is that employees can train without health risks even when working out actions in life-threatening emergencies. HTC VIVE high-resolution VR headsets provide a high level of photorealism and create a full immersion effect, and we are very interested in participating in a training system implementation project for the municipality of Dubai, said Daniel Hayat, HTC Middle East and Africa (MEA) product manager. |
