Infinet Wireless solutions are used to create trunk communication channels in Almaty region. ASTEL has selected Infinet point-to-point solutions Vector 5 and Vector 6 to deploy a network between remote nodes as an alternative to fiber optic links.

The area of ​ ​ Almaty region is more than 220 thousand square kilometers. Its territory is characterized by a complex relief with large altitude differences and a sharply continental climate, which is characterized by strong winds, thunderstorms and showers, as well as seasonal temperature differences from − 30 ° C in winter to + 40 ° C in summer. Providing communication to ASTEL customers in conditions where the laying of fiber optic cable is difficult is a non-trivial task. The creation of wireless communication channels based on Infinet equipment has become an excellent solution for the operator. The wireless network helps the operator provide reliable backup support for fiber optic channels.

According to ASTEL technical experts, the used Infinet solutions of the point-to-point topology Vector 5 and Vector 6 meet all the requirements for working in a noisy radio environment due to the good ability to overcome interference. Having a large frequency selection range and high spectral efficiency, they also ensure stable channel operation over long distances and out of line of sight even in the most adverse weather conditions.
