2022: Moving Business Systems to the Cloud

On February 17, 2022, Crayon announced that it had helped the international company ATPI, which provides global solutions for corporate travel and events, to move the business systems of the Russian division to the cloud.

Taking into account the work with the Russian 1C: Enterprise software and the need to comply with the requirements of corporate security standards and architecture resiliency, ATPI was looking for a contractor who has a large set of competencies and experience in this area.

Develop an architectural solution for the work of local and remote users;

  • Replace the operation of the 1C terminal service with Azure Virtual Desktop;
  • Connect and configure multifactor user authentication and resource access control;
  • Connect backup storage to minimize the risk of information loss;
  • Keep your local infrastructure running until the migration is complete.

Crayon specialists conducted an infrastructure survey of the Russian division of ATPI and prepared a roadmap for the implementation of cloud infrastructure. Migration requirements servers ON and hardware requirements in the local infrastructure were taken into account.

The following works were performed:

  • Configuring the infrastructure in Azure AD and synchronizing with the local infrastructure;
  • Testing and pilot operation of VM;
  • Migration of the main 1C server;
  • Setting up and migrating user accounts;
  • Support and technical support.

The transfer of infrastructure to the cloud was quick and did not affect the work of the company's employees. In the shortest possible time, all issues related to the preparation of the infrastructure and the transfer of work to Microsoft Azure were resolved.

The client received:

  • Optimizing local infrastructure support costs;
  • Secure remote work solution and remote employee access;
  • Reduce the risk of information loss.

Moving to the Cloud helped simplify the work of employees by providing remote access to all company services. Reducing unnecessary business processes has had a positive impact on productivity and infrastructure management.
