MIPT used the Waves Enterprise blockchain to conduct votes in dissertation councils

Russian universities award degrees using the blockchain service WE.Vote. This became known on February 18, 2022.

Blockchain electronic voting systems are actively developing, and business is closely monitoring the use of technology. Corporations and firms are interested in making management decisions honestly and remotely if possible. According to Waves Enterprise, the market for commercial solutions for blockchain voting in Russia is estimated at 200 million rubles. per year, and the potential of the foreign market is approximately $100 million.

WE.Vote users were joined by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, which deployed a system for voting in dissertation councils on the basis of the blockchain platform.

Having chosen blockchain technology for electronic voting, the university received a guarantee of the reliability of the results, which in the remote secret ballot mode would be especially difficult to ensure without the use of information technologies.
