2022: Work on VR and AR reality projects
As part of the Digital Technology Laboratory, PJSC UDC-Saturn"" (part of) United Engine Corporation Rostec together with senior students RGATU named after P.A. Solovyov work on projects using technologies virtual and (- augmented reality VR technology) for the needs of the enterprise. This was announced by UEC on March 3, 2022.
As of March 2022, we are working on projects using VR technologies as part of the creation of educational modules for training UEC-Saturn employees in the field of fire safety, health and industrial safety, as well as assembly workers using the example of assembling a D-30 series engine assembly. We are talking about VR simulators, or reality simulators. They allow you to work out a sequence of actions when performing a specific production task in a completely virtual environment, "explained Alexander Sorokin, head of the Digital Transformation Department, head of the UEC-Saturn Digital Technology Laboratory. |
Virtual reality technologies complement educational modules for training employees on the basis of the Enterprise Training Center. The use of VR simulators allows you to acquire additional practical skills in a virtual reality environment.
The difference between VR training is that the employee not only receives theoretical knowledge, but also applies this knowledge in practice - becomes a participant, an active player in the process and performs a real technological operation in a virtual environment. By this, muscle memory is formed, which allows improving the quality of assimilation of the material. This is especially true for young specialists - for them it is a familiar and comfortable computer environment.
The digital technology laboratory was organized in 2020 and is being implemented as part of the transformation of the industrial model of the UEC in five areas: "Components of robotics and sensor technology," "Neurotechnology and artificial intelligence," "New production technologies," "Industrial Internet of things," "Virtual and augmented reality technologies."
