2022: Recommendations for determining the optimal number of warehouses and their localization
The purpose of the project is to prepare recommendations for determining the optimal number of warehouses and their localization taking into account existing material flows based on the upper-level assessment of material flows of finished products.
As part of the survey, recommendations were developed on the totality of identified "growth points," which will increase the efficiency of the warehouse, reduce logistics costs, eliminate the Company's growth constraints associated with warehouse processes, and simplify and make more efficient the implementation of the WMS warehouse management system. Based on the analysis of sales by regions and categories, measurements of warehouses, identification of their purpose and specifics of the configuration, capacity and peculiarities of food storage conditions, a strategy for the development of the logistics structure for three years was developed (from March 2021 to 2024), taking into account changes in locations and the redistribution of traffic flows. The developed sequence of implementing the changes will allow the business to produce them without disruptions in daily operational activities.
