2022: Creating a program

In March 2022, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" named after V.I. Lenin announced the development of software designed to work out heart transplant operations. The solution was created on the Matlab platform.

According to the press service of the university, the program conducts calculations according to standard methods for human research, however, adjusted for the features of the rat body: for example, the heart rate in rats is about five times higher than in humans. Based on these features, several coefficients were adjusted.

In Russia, created software for working out heart transplant operations

It is claimed that the device with which the cardiac indicators were measured is able to record parameters on two channels with a frequency of 2000 Hz. This allows you to collect a large amount of information about the work of the cardiovascular system. To test the software, a database of rat signals recorded by doctors from the NMIC named after V.A. Almazov was used.

As noted in LETI, by March 2022, for complex surgical operations of the heart and the associated blood pathways, doctors need a working model on which various techniques can be worked out. Due to high injuries and health risks, many of the experiments aimed at developing new treatments for the cardiovascular system are carried out only in animals (for example, in rats).

Conducting research on the cardiovascular system using such models requires accurate research tools. To study heart activity, doctors use methods for computer processing of long-term signal recording. Compared to conventional electrocardiography (ECG), it allows you to capture a huge number of signals from processes occurring in the human heart.[1]
