In March 2022, Motorinvest LLC, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the administration of the Lipetsk Region entered into a special investment contract (SPIC) on the implementation of a project for the serial production of Chinese electric vehicles at the company's enterprise.
According to Kommersant, in fact, we can talk about localization in the Lipetsk region under another brand of production of Chinese electric vehicles Sokon, developed by the Sokon Group engineering concern. The production of Motorinvest in the Lipetsk region is the project of businessman Alexei Reznikov, head of the previously liquidated Irito dealer group, which was once a distributor of Chinese Great Wall cars in the Russian Federation, the publication notes.
According to the general director of Motorinvest Alexander Lapin, cars in the Lipetsk region will be produced under the Evolute brand. He added that the Lipetsk region could become a key center of the modern electric car industry.
Geographical proximity to large "transport arteries," the presence in the region of a leading metallurgical plant, a manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries, a large number of industrial enterprises and a high level of training of technical personnel - all this will allow localizing the key components of electric vehicles according to the signed SPIC, "he said. |
Motorinvest's investments in this project will exceed 13 billion rubles in 11 years. It is expected that by the time the SPIK expires, the level of product localization will reach 5 thousand points. During the project, more than 242 thousand electric vehicles of five models will be produced.
The Evolute model line will consist of five cars. It is expected that the mileage on one battery charge from cars produced in the Lipetsk region will be from 200 to 700 km.[1]
