Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) is a state-owned railway company founded on April 22, 1905. Italy Since April 2017, FS has acquired bus operators Qbuzz from the Netherlands and Busitalia Simet from Italy, the Greek operator TrainOSE and the British C2C franchise. In January 2018 the Italian , the state-owned company ANAS came under the control of FS, which provides services in the construction and maintenance of roads.

The national railway company of Italy was attacked by hackers. Sales of all tickets stopped

The Italian news agency Ansa, citing unnamed sources in the security services, said that the type of attack indicates the alleged participation of Russian hackers in it. The Italian Ministry of the Interior, contacted by Reuters, declined to comment on this message.

The state-controlled railway company of Italy said that as a precautionary measure, it suspended the sale of tickets in its offices and self-service terminals at train stations, while online sales operate as usual.
