2022: Launch of Oncogematological Corps

At the end of March 2022, the oncogematological building of the children's hospital was launched in Voronezh. About 2.5 billion rubles were invested in this project, including 1.8 billion rubles from the federal budget and 687 million rubles from the regional.

The fact that in the Voronezh Regional Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1 on Lomonosov Street, 114 put into operation a new building of oncogematology, the press service of the regional government said. The new building has five operating rooms, an inpatient department, a day hospital for pediatric oncology and hematology with intensive care units, a stem cell autotransplantation department, inpatient departments of pure and purulent otorhinolaryngology, a central sterilization department and an MRI room.

Launch of the Oncohematological Corps in Voronezh

The government of the Voronezh region believes that the new building will allow doctors to expand treatment methods and introduce new methods of therapy, including autotransplantation of hematopoietic stem cells for high-risk patients. Due to the expansion of the otorhinolaryngology department operating unit, the waiting time for operations will be reduced. According to the chief doctor of the hospital, Mikhail Zhidkov, the staff of specialists for new departments is fully staffed by the end of March 2022.

Voronezh Regional Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1

Regional Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1 - by the end of March 2022, the only multidisciplinary medical organization providing specialized assistance to children in the Voronezh region in such profiles as oncology, hematology and otorhinolaryngology. The hospital is housed in three buildings and has 710 beds. Up to 22 thousand people are hospitalized there per year. The oncogematological building was built as part of the national project "Health" and the regional project "Development of Children's Health of the Voronezh Region."[1]
