2022: Deliveries to Russia of the most popular airliners have been stopped. They were chosen by 50% of patients

The supplier of the most popular bite correction systems Invisalign announced the suspension of the supply of its products to Russia. We are talking about the company Align Technology, the newspaper Kommersant reports.

According to the publication, Invisalign accounted for the bulk of the procedures for installing airliners, which were chosen by about half of the patients. Clinics are forced to switch to systems of local manufacturers that were not previously in demand.

Stopped deliveries to Russia of the most popular airliners

According to Andrei Glebov, Executive Director of Dental Fantasy and Belgravia Dental Studio, the supply stoppage is associated with the departure of the American logistics operator UPS from Russia. In a report for 2021, Align Technology noted that its ability to deliver products to customers directly depends on the work of carriers, the newspaper said.

In the Copper network, Invisalign accounted for the bulk of the procedures, in Dental Fantasy and Belgravia Dental Studio 95% of the installed airliners were from this brand, representatives of the clinics said. By April, 2022 these medical centers switch to domestic production FlexiLigner, "the Smile" Is old (Star Smile) and Dommar (3D Smile) which was in smaller demand before.

Problems with the supply of Invisalign occurred during a period of hype demand for expensive dental procedures, especially implantation services and orthodontic treatment. In Dental Fantasy and Belgravia Dental Studio, the demand for orthodontics in March grew by 50%, in SM-Dentistry and the Medgarant clinic - by 30% year-on-year. Patients sought to fully pay for the treatment in order to fix the price, Mr. Glebov points out. Prices for clinic services did not change, and the cost of materials increased in proportion to the exchange rate of the purchase currency, market participants say.[1]
