Rosneft improves the accuracy of the localization of reserves

2022: Implementation of a module to identify promising areas for hydrocarbon production

Specialists of Rosneft's subsidiaries, the Tyumen Oil Research Center and Samotlorneftegaz, developed and implemented a software module to determine promising areas for hydrocarbon production at the Samotlorskoye field. The program also helps to increase the efficiency of production. This became known on April 12, 2022.

The development of technological potential is one of the key elements of the Rosneft-2030 strategy. The company gives priority to innovation and the use of breakthrough technological approaches.

The original algorithm of the software module analyzes the geological information that was obtained from the beginning of the development of the deposit, and finds those areas where mining was not carried out. In addition to assessing the geological properties of the formation, the program takes into account actual data from the exploration of the subsoil, modeling of fracturing fractures, up-to-date information about the well bore path and other important parameters that increase the accuracy of localization of current reserves.

In the case of successful use of this software complex at Samotlorskoye oilfield, the technology will be introduced at other fields of^[1].
