In August, 2010 the Quest Software company announced the new version of the solution Quest Authentication Services in which the Active Directory Bridge Technology technology of the next generation is implemented. This patent development allows to integrate systems based on Unix, Linux and Mac OS into uniform corporate infrastructure for which management the Active Directory directory service is used.
Thanks to proposed solution administrators of heterogeneous IT environments will be able to use uniform usual tools for the solution of routine tasks, such as authentication and authorization of users of these systems.
The new version of Quest Authentication Services brings to attention of administrators tools for carrying out audit, generation of reports and mailing of notifications in case of making changes in the crucial data of Unix systems stored in the Active Directory directories. Quest Authentication Services will also simplify implementation of the mechanisms of single registration operating in scales of all enterprise. After passing of the procedure of authorization users of the Active Directory will get authorized access to any of Unix systems supporting Quest Authentication Services.
For the solution of the majority of administrator tasks the uniform web console which is started on the Unix, Linux, Windows or Mac platforms can be used and maintains the majority of widespread browsers. The structure of a packet includes additional resources of management of group politicians (Group Policy Management), including support of macroes which will provide reuse of the chosen objects of GPO with different to Unix systems. Corporate IT specialists will also estimate enhanced capabilities of management of exclusive accounts.
