Information Technology Center of Volgograd Region Introduced Russian Communication Platform

2022: Implementation of the CommuniGate Pro platform by the Information Technology Center of Volgograd Region

On April 20, 2022, Axoft announced that the Volgograd Region State Budgetary Institution "Center for Information Technologies of the Volgograd Region" (GBU VO "TsIT VO") completed the setup of the CommuniGate Pro communication platform for executive authorities and municipal institutions of the region. The project was implemented as part of the implementation of the import substitution policy with the technical support of Axoft.

The Volgograd region is actively implementing an import substitution policy in executive bodies. The employees of the GBU VO "CIT VO" had the task of transferring the executive authorities and municipal socially significant institutions of the region to a domestic communication platform.

Specialists of GBU VO "CIT VO" conducted a comparative analysis of domestic communication platforms. The results of the testing showed that the optimal platform for use in the region is a solution based on the CommuniGate Pro platform. This software product is registered in the Unified Register of Russian programs for computers and databases, has optimal functionality and performance: the solution combines mail, calendars, notes, chats, working with files on one platform, requires a minimum of system resources, is flexible in settings. The product supplier is MKTreid.

"The selection of this platform was not random. Before launching the pilot project, we studied the software market, chose the best solutions, launched piloting. The test resulted in a detailed report on the functionality of various platforms, compatibility with the existing infrastructure. The CommuniGate Pro platform met all our requirements. However, we all understood that competitive procedures would put the final point in the choice of product, " notes Tatyana Gnedash, Deputy Director of GBU VO "CIT VO"

Employees of GBU VO "CIT VO" and the technical team of Axoft carried out work on the deployment and configuration of a universal communication platform.

"At the first stage, the servers were configured into a cluster, and the CommuniGate Pro solution was deployed on them. Next, mail configuration work was implemented: integration with an existing domain was performed, mail sending/receiving options were configured, encryption certificates were installed, address books from AD were added, and integration with other solutions was configured. The CommuniGate Pro platform was deployed on the Russian operating system Red OS, manufactured by Red Soft, which is being actively introduced in the regions of the country, including in the Volgograd region. Previously, the developers of these solutions confirmed their full compatibility.
