2022: Product Announcement

On April 12, 2022, Cresilon, a New York-based company specializing in the development of medical hemostatic technologies, launched a plant-based hemostatic gel that can stop bleeding very quickly when applied to a wound.

Existing methods of hemostasis require the application of pressure or the introduction of coagulants, and both methods have their drawbacks, including a waiting time of several minutes before stopping bleeding. Cresilon's technology aims to stop bleeding extremely quickly and acts as a mechanical barrier at the site of hemorrhages.

Cresilon technology is a mixture of two plant-derived polysaccharides that form a viscous gel that can stop bleeding when in contact without the need for manual pressure. The gel forms an instant mechanical barrier over the source of bleeding, stopping any bleeding - from a small cut to traumatic arterial bleeding.

After stopping bleeding, the gel allows the patient to create his own fibrin clot and can be easily removed without disturbing the existing clot or left in the body for further resorption. Cresilon technology offers a quick and effective way to control bleeding both in a medical facility and in the operating room without any requirements, training or special storage conditions.

{{quote 'As Cresilon develops, we assume that this technology can be used anywhere there is bleeding, from surgery and trauma to first aid and consumer use. Cresilon has every opportunity to use our technology as a starting point for a revolution in wound care standards. Our goal is to continue developing technologies that fulfill our mission to save lives in the field of hemostasis, wound healing, therapy delivery, tissue regeneration and more, says co-founder and CEO Joe Landolina, creator of Cresilon gel technology. }} Cresilon technology as of April 2022 is available to veterinary doctors under the brand name VETIGEL for use in surgical, traumatic and dental bleeding. Cresilon also introduced its technology to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in order to obtain appropriate permits for use in people under the CHG brand, which will allow the technology to be used for people.[1]
