On April 22, 2022, it became known about the initiation of a criminal case against Ilya Krasilshchik. The ex-head of Yandex Lavka is suspected of disseminating false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

According to an Interfax source, Dyer is suspected of posting on his Instagram page (banned in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized in Russia as a banned extremist organization) fake information about the involvement of the Russian military in the killings of civilians during a special operation in Ukraine.

The maximum punishment that entails a violation of the law on fakes (part 1 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) is imprisonment for up to three years, and if the dissemination of false information entails grave consequences, then the punishment will be from 10 to 15 years in prison.

In his commentary for Meduza (included by the Ministry of Justice of Russia in the list of foreign media agents), Dyelshchik noted that he had not received an official notice, he learned about the criminal case from Telegram channels. The media manager stressed that he does not plan to return to Russia. The fact that he left the Russian Federation became known at the end of February 2022.

Absentee sentence - 8 years for fakes about the Russian army

On June 29, 2023, the Basmanny Court of Moscow sentenced media manager Ilya Krasilshchik in absentia to eight years in a general regime colony for spreading fakes about the Russian army. The prosecution asked to sentence the former CEO of Yandex.Lavka to nine years in prison.

The court found Krasilshchik guilty of publicly disseminating deliberately false, according to the authorities, information about the use of the army (part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code).
