Biography

2022: Telephone fraudsters under the guise of calls from the Central Bank lured 1 million rubles from the Bolshoi Theater ballerina

As it became known on May 4, 2022, telephone fraudsters lured 1 million rubles from the Bolshoi Theater ballerina Tatyana Osipova. She, according to the Moscow agency, contacted the police on May 3 and said that the scammers convinced her to issue consumer loans, withdraw funds and transfer them to the accounts indicated during the telephone conversation.

According to Telegram channel 112, for seven hours the artist received calls from attackers who were presented by law enforcement officials and the Central Bank of Russia. Fraudsters told the ballerina that there was a data leak and that unknown people were trying to issue a loan for the girl.

In order to avoid this, the attackers advised Osipova to apply for another loan, after which cash out and transfer it to a "safe account." The ballerina followed the instructions of the scammers and transferred them an amount of 1 million rubles. After that, Tatyana Osipova turned to the police.

Earlier it became known that more than 1.2 million rubles were stolen from the daughter-in-law of the 92-year-old ballet soloist of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater. A relative of the ballerina called the bank and asked to block her card when she found numerous SMS about the withdrawal of funds from the account. However, the organization said that it was impossible to return the money, and also advised the woman to contact the police.[1]
