2022: Aircraft Landing Course-Glide Path Upgrade Plan

On May 4, 2022, it became known that Naryan Mara Airport the Nenets Autonomous Okrug will receive an updated course-glide landing system for aircraft. About 170 million from the rubles federal budget will be allocated for these purposes. countries The system is necessary for the airport to level the negative consequences of difficult weather conditions, due to which aircraft could not land at the airport. Aircraft were forced to leave for other harbors.

NAO Governor Yuri Bezdudny and the head of Rosavik Alexander Neradko concluded an agreement on the allocation of funds for the acquisition of a course-glide landing system for the Naryan-Mara airport. Funds will be allocated from the federal budget of Russia.

The updated radio beacon system was developed by engineers of the Almaz-Antey concern. It is suitable for working in difficult conditions of the Arctic with fogs and low clouds that prevent aircraft from landing. Thanks to this system, the visibility conditions during the approach will increase to 550 m. Installation of the system will take about 12 months.

According to NAO Governor Yuri Bezdudny, such a system is necessary for the region "like air." After all, the main mode of transport in the region is aviation. And this course-glide landing system will give a guarantee to receiving aircraft at Naryan-Mara airport, without the need to take into account the difficult weather conditions of the Arctic[1].

In 2022, work will be carried out at the Naryan-Mara airfield to install an automated transceiver radio center. Equipping it with an airfield will improve radio communication. The equipment has already been delivered to Naryan-Mar[2]
