2022: Drone Announcement

In May 2022, the Sea Drone MG unmanned aerial vehicle was introduced, which, according to the developers, is the first Russian drone capable of being driven to the sea surface. The device was developed by the company "Shooting from the Air."

According to the technical director of this company, Vladimir Tikhonov, the drone received a hybrid power plant, allowing it to fly for up to three hours without stopping. At the same time, by May 20, 2022 only an electric version of the device was created, which can be in the air for 45 minutes with a payload of 3 kg. The hybrid version uses a gasoline four-stroke engine running on AI-92/95 gasoline.

As indicated on the Air Survey website, the Sea Drone MG case is made according to the IP 67 standard, which allows it to be operated in adverse climatic conditions, at sea and on land, and a specially designed magnetometer makes it possible to operate in the Arctic.

According to the manufacturer, the improved magnetometer, the GNSS system and the infrared automatic landing system allow the MG SeaDrone complex to take off, make long-distance flights and return exactly to the deck of the ship on drift and in motion in fully automatic mode.

The petrol engine of the complex maintains the necessary temperature for operation in conditions up to -40 degrees, unlike analogues on power supply. The power supply of the complex is sufficient to combat gusts of wind up to 15 m/s.

It is also noted that the drone does not transfer flight tracks to other countries to unknown addressees, so working with it is confidential.

By May 2022, Sea Drone MG is being tested. In late July - early August 2022, demonstration flights of the drone are scheduled.[1]
