2022: Sale of the Garden Ring Plant

In mid-May 2022, the Serpukhov Elevator Plant (SLZ) was sold to SK S.T.S. LLC, which uses the trademark of the developer "Garden Ring" (builds housing in Tatarstan, Bashkortostan and Moscow Region), for 1.3 billion rubles. This is evidenced by the materials of the auction of bankruptcy property, to which Kommersant refers.

The purchase price of the elevator plant corresponds to the market, but another 300-400 million rubles will be required to be invested in the restart, said Mikhail Burmistrov, general director of Infoline Analytics. He said this in a conversation with the publication.

Serpukhov elevator plant sold for 1.3 billion rubles

According to the expert, which is given in the publication of May 26, 2022, six months ago, when the competition was higher due to the presence of Western players in the market, it would be possible to purchase an asset cheaper by 20-25%.

SLZ will resume production in the third quarter of 2022, Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov said on Sputnik radio at the end of May 2022. According to him, the maximum capacity of the plant will be 10-12 thousand elevators per year. Vorobyov also added that the new owner will adapt the production of components so as not to depend on the import of units and winches.

About 30% of imported components, including winches, are used in the production of elevators at Russian plants, and all microelectronics are of foreign development, says Pyotr Kharlamov, head of the Russian Elevator Association Association. European equipment has been installed at the Serpukhov plant, which means that due to logistical problems there may be difficulties with its adjustment and provision of spare parts, adds Irina Dolgikh, an expert at the NEO Center.^[1]

2013-2016

The Serpukhov elevator plant was launched in 2013, but in 2016 production stopped, and all workers were fired.
