2022: System Announcement
At the end of May 2022, Norilsk Nickel announced the launch of an accurate positioning system for personnel and equipment at the mines. It is designed to ensure the safety of miners.
According to the press service of the company, the principle of operation of the system is based on the constant transfer of coordinates to the control panel, where in online mode on the 3D model of the mine you can track the route of movement of personnel and equipment. The system also provides timely notification of workers about the danger of collisions, possible collisions and about approaching dangerous zones.
In addition, the accurate positioning system performs a number of tasks to automate the control of production processes: it records the working hours of employees, monitors the implementation of the plan for the volume of transportation of rock mass in each shift, etc.
By the end of May 2022, the system was introduced at the Zapolyarny mine. There, it covers 1,500 mine lights and more than 80 units of rail transport and self-propelled equipment operating underground. UralTechIs LLC, engaged in the development and production of electronic equipment for mining enterprises, has equipped the miners of the Zapolyarny mine with multifunctional lamps, in which the labels of the accurate positioning system are built. Similar devices are installed on vehicles.
It is noted that the implementation of the project was helped by the Micromine system already available at the mine, specialists from the general service center and developers of the Mining Dispatcher software.
Security is first and foremost. The new system is aimed at improving the safety of our employees, it will help in positioning people. After all, our main task is zero injuries, - said Vadim Makarov, director of the Zapolyarny mine.[1] |
