MegaFon will provide a platform for the protection of children in the digital environment to Russian schools

2022: Project Launch Plan to Protect Children and Adolescents from Threats in the Digital Environment

MegaFon on June 16, 2022 announced that, together with the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Russian Society "Knowledge," it would launch a pilot project to protect children and adolescents from threats in the digital environment in Russian schools.

MegaFon developed the Digital Trust training platform at the end of 2021. The task of the project is to prepare children and adolescents for possible threats on the network and give tools for responding to them, and to help parents and teachers recognize the problem in time and correctly build communication with the child in a difficult situation.

MegaFon, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Russian Society "Knowledge" agreed on joint testing of the platform. The Russian society "Knowledge" also developed recommendations for the formation of the Platform's content and attracted its experts to reveal the topic of cyberbullying on its resources. In the future, "Knowledge" will post the materials of the platform on its online platforms and will continue to attract lecturers to work in the field of digital safety of children and adolescents.

As part of the pilot project, training lectures will be held at the Sirius Educational Center during the summer holidays. From September, a digital security course using MegaFon's platform will be piloted in general education schools as part of the "Surrounding World" lessons for students in grades 1-4 and the class hour for high school.

A separate block for parents and teachers will help to better understand the behavior of children on the Internet - for example, to determine that a child is bullied and help him cope with the problem. Content created with the participation of specialists, including psychologists and experts in the field of cybersecurity, helps to teach loved ones and teachers to build a trusting dialogue with the child, to recognize and solve the problem in a timely manner.
