2022: Hydrogen peroxide production is launched in Chuvashia for 9.7 billion rubles

In mid-June 2022, Volzhskaya Peroxide announced the launch of a new production site for the production of hydrogen peroxide at the Khimprom PJSC in Novocheboksarsk. About 200 items of technological equipment were installed there, eight structures and 15 km of technological pipelines were erected. The volume of investments in the project is 9.7 billion rubles.

As the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov noted, the conclusion of a special investment contract with Volzhskaya Peroxide will allow the production of highly concentrated 100% hydrogen peroxide with a capacity of 50 thousand tons per year, which is equivalent to 150 thousand tons of 30% peroxide concentration.

It is assumed that the total production of 30% of hydrogen peroxide in 2024 at Khimprom will reach about 250 thousand tons, which will fully cover the needs of the Russian market.

The advantages of modern technology include improved quality characteristics, as well as reduced energy costs. This product is extremely important, because it is used both in the perfume and cosmetic industry and as an antiseptic agent, and is also needed by pulp and paper mills as a bleach of wood pulp, "Manturov emphasized.

According to the government of the Chuvash Republic, which is given in June 2022, the volume of hydrogen peroxide production in the markets of Russia and the EAEU countries is about 83 thousand tons. Market growth dynamics averages 3-4% per year. This is facilitated by the growth of consuming industries and trends in the use of chlorine-free technologies.

The rights to produce hydrogen peroxide by the anthraquinone method "Volzhskaya Peroxide" were obtained from the Swedish company Chematur Engineering.^[1]
