On June 23, 2022 , Rostec announced the creation of a biometric system for opening locks and raising barriers. The project is being implemented by the Novosibirsk radio parts plant "Oxide," which is part of Roselectronics ( a subsidiary of Rostec).

The system includes a set of equipment: an electronic control unit, an Internet gateway and a lock. Using an application in a smartphone, the user opens access, and the lock microcontroller receives a signal through a secure LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) communication channel. This technology allows you to create energy-efficient long-range IoT networks. Unlike sensors for Wi-Fi and 4G networks, LoRaWAN devices are less energy consuming, the state corporation explained.

Rostec introduced a system for opening barriers and retinal locks. Price

Rostec noted that the development can be used in infrastructure projects and at the same time serve more than 250 connected locks, barriers and other pass control systems at a distance of up to 500 meters. Opening locks is possible by fingerprint or iris.

According to the developers, their technology has great potential for use in infrastructure projects. The system is resistant to attacks and unauthorized connections.

The developed solution based on its own software and the Russian microcontroller allows you to ensure reliable security management of any objects. The use of domestic solutions guarantees the information security of the system, - said Andrei Chendarov, Deputy General Director for Technological Development of the United Instrument-Making Corporation (managing organization of the Roselectronics holding).

Serial production of equipment is planned to begin in 2022. The cost of the kit will be from 25 thousand rubles. [1]
