Terroir
The climate is temperate continental with cold, little snow in winter, with frequent thaws. Summers are hot with low rainfall. In the summer, easterly winds prevail. Autumn is very dry, which allows the grape to mature very well. The soils are light, mainly sandy loamy, sandy, sometimes loamy interspersed with lime. The region is free of phylloxera - all plantings are corneal. These places were once the ancient Khvalyn Sea. Dubovka is located in the narrowest place between the Volga and Don rivers, which creates its own microclimate, which favorably affects the grown grapes.

As of 2022, two author's varieties of the first selicationist of the Potapenko winery continue to be cultivated: Marinovsky and Neretinsky black. 1990
The farm was founded in 1990 by Eduard Grigorievich Gusev. It all started with table grapes, in the 1990s, near the city of Dubovka, breeder Alexander Ivanovich Potapenko lived in the village of Oleniy, after acquaintance with whom viticulture in this area was developed.
