Vineyard area. Geography

Rostov region, Vedernikov farm.
The Vedernikov farm, where the winery vineyards are located, is located in the Right-Bank zone on the high bank of the Don in the Konstantinovsky district, 160 kilometers from Rostov-on-Don.
The total vineyard area is:
2021:160 hectares, of which 80 percent are covered, 25% are plantings of autochthonous Cossack varieties, which were carefully preserved by buying out a dilapidated wine farm in the nineties of the last century.
2022:225 ha, 189 ha fruiting, added another 15 ha autochthons

Terroir

Soils are represented by southern chernozems with a depleted fertile layer. The underlying rock is clay, the mother rock is a shell plateau. It is thanks to the sea shell plateau that wines from the Vedernikov farm acquire delicate minerality. Due to deep groundwater, the root system is forced to penetrate to a depth of more than five meters. The sum of active temperatures for the growing season in the terroir of the Vedernikov farm is from 3600 to 3900 ºS, which allows even late varieties to mature. The average annual rainfall is 412 mm, the terroir of the Vedernikov farm is characterized by windy dry and hot weather.
