The history of the Kiev plant of sparkling wines begins with the second half of the nineteenth century when in 1860 the colonist of the Volynsk province Wilhelm Yakovich Rikhert constructed in own territory, in the suburb of Kiev – Kurenevke brewery which was considered as one of the most powerful for that time. Full name: Kiev Plant of Sparkling Wines Stolichny Ltd

2007 became decisive in the history of the plant. On October 17 the Kiev plant of sparkling Capital wines was included into group of the European producers of sparkling wines – Henkell&Sohnlein Sektkellereien KG company.

The Henkell&Sohnlein Sektkellereien KG corporation is one of the leading players of the European market and owns the enterprises for production of sparkling wines in such countries as Germany, France, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Italy. Based on 2006 the corporation implemented 204.8 million bottles. Annual money turnover of the company makes 513 million euros. It is the only corporation in the world the nonresident who has production in the Province of Champagne. Entry into Henkell&Sohnlein Sektkellereien KG group means for the Kiev plant of sparkling wines, first of all, strengthening of positions of the enterprise and its trademarks in the market and also receiving investments into production and marketing.
