The owner of the winery, Alexander Sergeevich Kislitsyn, as of 2022, the chief agronomist Vlado Yurichich and the chief winemaker, oenologist Roman Logunov. The trademark owes its name to the local river Shumrinka. The winery hosts excursions and tastings.

Terroir

The territory of the Anapa region, the eastern part of the Black Sea Caucasus, which is part of the mountain system of the Great Caucasus Range. The vineyard is located on the slopes of Semisam, a ridge whose name can be translated from Turkic as "rocky." The height difference in the Shumrinki vineyard between the highest point where the Syrah variety is planted and the lowest at the small spring where Chardonnay grows is about 100 meters. Mainly, the slopes are oriented to the south and southeast, but there are also areas with western and northern exposure. There are 3 main types of soils in the vineyards: reddish clay, calcareous, and marl in some areas.

A set of grapes

SHUMRINKA grows seventeen grapes: merlot, malbec, pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, pinot blanc, malvasia, petit verdo, grenache, marcelan, other varieties. As an experiment, a rare Serbian probus variety was planted.

History

2019

In 2019, SHUMRINKA presented to the market the first two lines of its products - fresh young wines "Semisam" and more aged and rounded "Petricor."

2016

The first vineyards were established in the Shumrinki Valley in 2016 - the first 50 hectares with a high planting density, 5,208 vines per hectare.
