ORTHOCOSMOS is a Russian enterprise for the production of prostheses and orthoses, the provision of orthopedic and rehabilitation services. ORTHOCOSMOS provides prosthetic and orthopedic care and support to military personnel, Paralympic athletes and anyone who needs prosthetics.

2024: Launch of knee pads for prostheses

On June 19, 2024, it became known that the research and production company Orto-Cosmos organized the production of polymer knee pads for prostheses in the Moscow Region. The volume of investments in the project amounted to approximately 4.4 million rubles.

The Orto-Cosmos enterprise from Mytishchi near Moscow is engaged in the production of prostheses and orthoses, as well as the provision of orthopedic and rehabilitation services. The new textile-coated knee pads are designed for comfortable wearing and secure fixation of prostheses. The various embodiments allow the optimal configuration to be selected for each patient.

According to the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region, knee pads are a domestic analogue of foreign goods. The development and organization of production was carried out within the framework of the import substitution program. Thanks to the use of modern materials, the knee pads provide reliable additional fastening and ease of wear throughout the day. It is also possible to make products according to an individual impression.

This is a significant event within the framework of the import substitution program aimed at developing domestic production and reducing dependence on foreign goods, "says Stepan Golovin, First Deputy General Director of Orto-Cosmos.

It is argued that in terms of quality, domestic knee pads are not inferior to foreign counterparts, and in some cases even surpass them in functionality and convenience. Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region Yekaterina Zinovieva emphasizes that the appearance of Russian knee pads for prostheses will help provide patients with the necessary products, as well as contribute to the development of the country's economy.^[1]
