2022: Use of Vinteo VKS

To organize the connections of online participants of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), the Russian video conferencing solution (VKS) of the telepresence class of Vinteo was used, as announced by the latter on June 30, 2022. High-quality video communication with a full "presence effect," the ability to securely connect from any device and automatic synchronous translations from the VKS server was provided.

More than 50 events were held on the Vinteo VKS platform for up to 2 hours each, with more than 120 participants from 15 countries connected, with up to 12 images of participants displayed on the screens at the same time. The joint work of the Vinteo Aerospace Forces and the on-air equipment of the conference rooms was also established.

The functionality of synchronous translations of Vinteo was actively used - translations were carried out by local translators in 4 languages ​ ​ (Russian, English, Chinese and Spanish), immediately from the VKS server (without using additional services). Vinteo noted that simultaneous translation worked automatically, that is, speakers from the same hall could speak in different languages, but no reconfiguration was required for remote participants - they heard the speech of speakers already translated into their own language.

Vinteo's smart layout management made it possible to create an individual technical scenario with the optimal distribution of static and dynamic roles of participants, focusing on speakers at the moments of their speeches (lecturer mode) and maintaining focus on several opponents during discussions.

Also in the work of Vinteo it is worth noting advanced connection management - thanks to this functionality, VKS administrators did not need to constantly manage conferences themselves.

By the types of subscriber connections to VKS sessions, connections from personal computers through WebRTC technology from browsers were in the lead, and connections were also made from mobile devices and using H.323 and SIP protocols.

Special attention was paid to the issues of ensuring connection security, protecting information from external attacks, confidentiality of data exchange and fault tolerance of the VKS server.

Vinteo VKS solutions were able to adequately withstand the pace of work as high in terms of online connections. We tried to show, using the example of Vinteo's work, that we can no longer talk just about import substitution, but about the full-fledged technological sovereignty of Russia in terms of professional-class video conferencing solutions, supplemented by our own know-how of domestic developers, - said Roman Samoilov, director of Vinteo.
