2022: System Announcement

On July 12, 2022, the educational holding Skillbox Holding Limited announced the launch of the Life After project, which helps former prisoners master the IT profession for free and find a job.

At the first stage, Skillbox will allocate 100 grants for training in IT professions in the amount of 12 million rubles. Former convicts will be able to study in 12 specialties, including: web developer, SMM specialist, Java developer, web analyst and others. It is noted that for the training of each specialty, basic computer ownership will be enough, the rest of the profession can be mastered from scratch, the recipients of grants will not need any specialized knowledge.

Skillbox starts free training for ex-prisoners

The possibility of free education will be available to those who were convicted of minor crimes and released on parole in 2021-2022. To receive a grant, on the website of the Жизньпосле.орг project, applicants need to choose a course, fill out an application and attach a motivational letter.

After completing 70% of the course, specialists from the Skillbox Career Center will prepare former prisoners for an interview, collect a portfolio, and teach how to talk about their past at meetings with the employer. Skillbox will form a list of companies that are willing to take to the state or freelance with people with criminal records.

By July 12, 2022, the project is already working in pilot mode in the Lipetsk Women's Correctional Colony No. 7. 10 participants master new professions in the programs "Photography from zero to PRO," "Photoshop from zero to PRO" and others.

As noted by Skillbox brand director Vlad Sitnikov, modern education and the opportunity to get an up-to-date profession will help former prisoners start life again. He said that the holding plans to develop such initiatives and allocate more grants for them.[1]
