Liby (heart and lung failure treatment system)

2022: Device Announcement

On July 11, 2022, Inspira Technologies introduced the Liby system for the treatment of heart and lung failure. She uses an invasive extracorporeal method of oxygen saturation in the development of severe acute respiratory failure.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technology pumps, oxygenates and removes carbon dioxide from the blood of patients whose lungs cannot provide sufficient oxygenation of end organs. The company developed Liby as the next-generation ECMO system with the intention of making it the first system designed to integrate with HYLA's non-invasive blood sensor technology, Inspira Technologies said in a news release. HYLA, in combination with Liby, can provide continuous real-time monitoring of the patient's condition to alert physicians to immediate signs of a change in the patient's clinical condition.
