On July 13, 2022, it became known about the use of machine gun robots by Russia as part of a military special operation in Ukraine. The system has remote control, which allows the operator to monitor the situation while safe.

As a source in the power structures told TASS, the Tiger armored car with a remotely controlled combat module Crossbow-DM is successfully used by Russian special forces to clean up settlements.

Russia uses a robotic machine gun Crossbow-DM in Ukraine

The agency reports that the Crossbow-DM module can be installed on wheeled or tracked armored vehicles, ships and stationary checkpoints. The armament of the module is a 12.7 Cord mm machine gun with 150 rounds of ammunition or a 7.62 mm PKTM machine gun with 250 rounds of ammunition.

The module can capture and automatically track targets from the place and in motion, its television camera is able to recognize the target at a distance of up to 2.5 km, thermal imaging - up to 1.5 km. The sight of the complex is also equipped with a rangefinder laser.

The Russian robotic machine gun combat module with remote control "Crossbow-DM" was developed by the private company "Armory Workshops" together with the Kovrovsky Electromechanical Plant and JSC "NTC" Elins'. " The angle of rotation in the vertical plane is from 70 to -20 degrees. Ammunition consists of up to 450 rounds. Weight of "Crossbow-DM" complex does not exceed 250 kg.

"Crossbow-DM" is not the only high-tech weapons that Russia uses as part of a special operation in Ukraine. According to RIA Novosti, Russian special forces use silent Gall mortars for sudden fire raids during special and reconnaissance activities. In addition, they are used to eliminate disguised observation, strongholds and during the destruction of Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.[1]
