AksTim transferred marketing of IDS Borjomi Russia to Yandex.Cloud

2022: Implementation of seamless migration of the platform from the cloud of a foreign service provider

The press service of AksTim LLC (ex-Accenture) announced on July 12, 2022 that the company's specialists had implemented a seamless migration of the platform for analyzing promotional activities from the cloud of a foreign service provider for IDS Borjomi Russia, the Russian division of IDS Borjomi International. This will allow IDS Borjomi Russia to continue to use the previously implemented NRM solution with a full guarantee of process and data security.

The Net Revenue Management (NRM) platform was developed by AksTim (then the team worked under the Accenture brand) for IDS Borjomi Russia in 2021. This is an original solution based on machine learning and big data technologies, which allows brand analysts to predict and calculate the actual effectiveness of promotional activities in the retail market.

On the basis of the NRM platform, IDS Borjomi Russia marketers can agree on promos at all levels, conduct ROI calculations, build reports and visualize data, as well as perform a plan-fact analysis and a quick audit of any advertising activities. The flexibility of the platform architecture (open source solutions are used) helps to test hypotheses and improve the accuracy and effectiveness of marketing promotions.

Since the NRM platform uses big data, the optimal computing environment for it is the cloud. Previously, the platform worked in the cloud of the American service provider AWS, but since the beginning of March 2022, it has suspended customer service in Russia and Belarus. IDS Borjomi Russia required fast and seamless platform migration to the Russian cloud.

In just a few weeks, AksTim specialists helped IDS Borjomi Russia deploy Dev/Prod Kubernetes clusters in Yandex.Cloud"," configure Gitlab CI\CD (continuous integration and delivery), logging, system monitoring (FluentBit, Yandex Cloud Logging, "Yandex Monitoring"). The NRM platform was tested in Yandex.Cloud, and the technical documentation was updated.

The peculiarity of the project is the transfer of the so-called "managed services." Such services do not need to be deployed on their own, their service is taken over by a cloud provider, just select the appropriate parameters. For different providers, the list of such managed services and their implementation may differ, noted Anton Merkulov, Director for Development of Advanced Analytics, AksTim LLC.

According to him, the difficulties associated with this were solved. For example, the process of automating the assembly of an application in AWS could not be transferred to Yandex.Cloud unchanged. The team had to deploy Gitalb and rewrite the CI\CD process.

In addition, it should be borne in mind that some Yandex Clouds services are in preview mode. You need to be prepared that during the transfer of functionality, difficulties may arise that will require additional time costs, explained Dmitry Borodovitsyn, Head of IT Product Management at IDS Borjomi Russia.

As a result, the migration to the updated cloud took place in just one month. It was important for the company to migrate to the updated platform as soon as possible and connect all users to it.
