2022: Automation of 50 business processes with RPA
On July 14, 2022, the United Metallurgical Company (OMK) announced that it had automated 50 business processes in 2.5 years thanks to RPA (Robotic process automation) technology based on the use of software robots. Robotization of routine processes is one of the areas of the company's efficiency improvement program.
Most of the automated business processes are related to the service of OMK enterprises: registration of vacations, sick leave, transfers and layoffs, the release of electronic sick leave and certificates on the form of 2-NDFL. There are robots for typical storage, purchase and sale operations. In financial and accounting departments, RPA allows you to eliminate human errors and optimize data entry time - robots perform routine functions 10-20 times faster than a person and at the same time "do not get tired." There are also specific operations, such as the formation of quality certificates for shipped products. This makes the information flow between OMK and its clients more transparent and significantly increases the efficiency of document processing.
OMK specialists are engaged in the development of software robots - the company initially followed the path of developing an internal competence center. As of July 2022, OMK developers are introducing pilot projects.
We are trying to combine the functionality of software robots with other digital assistants. Due to this, we push the boundaries of their application and develop the competencies of our development team. In addition, we have digitized the procedure for submitting an application from departments (in 90% of cases, they are the initiators of robotization of processes) - now any employee can initiate the process by filling out a short form in just a couple of minutes. Thus, we expect to involve as many employees as possible in the digitalization process and replicate the practice of using software robots at all enterprises of the company, - commented Pavel Ulikhin, head of the practice of business analytics and robotization of OMK processes. |
