Putin signed a law on the creation of an analogue of pioneer

In mid-July 2022, the president Russia Vladimir Putin signed a law involving the creation of a movement of children and youth, which in structure will resemble the Soviet pioneer movement. We are talking about the Russian movement "Big Change."

According to the document, the law was developed to promote state policy in the interests of children and youth, as well as to participate in the upbringing of children, their professional orientation, and the organization of leisure. The movement will participate in "education, career guidance, organization of leisure activities for children and youth," preparing children "for a full life in society, including the formation of their worldview on the basis of traditional Russian spiritual and moral goals," the law says. All children from six years old will be able to enter the "Big Change." NGOs, Cossack societies, communities of indigenous minorities and socially useful funds will also be able to participate in it.

Putin signed a law on the creation of an analogue of pioneer

Damir Fattakhov, deputy head of Rosmolodezh, spoke about the possibility of creating such a movement in early July 2022. It is expected that within the new organization there will be a division into analogues of the October, pioneer and Komsomol movement in the age categories from 1st to 4th grades, secondary schools and 9th-11th grades.

{{quote 'Returning to the experience of the past, it was not by chance that the stages were determined: first you are October, then you are a pioneer, a Komsomolets. The movement will also have to develop internal borders between communities within the movement, Fattakhov said. }} Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also noted that the creation of a new all-Russian children's and youth organization does not imply the revival of pioneer.

{{quote 'Nobody is going to revive any pioneers, no organizations. And in fact, this initiative, this bill - it is connected precisely with the movement. This is a movement, and not just a movement of schoolchildren, but wider age frames - these are schoolchildren, and already young people, - Peskov noted[1] }}
