2022: Sanctions of Ukraine
In July 2022, Ukraine, on a national basis, arrested the property of restaurateur Alexander Orlov.
Orlov owns the Bulldozer Group, which owned the Tanuki network in Russia. He owns Ukrainian establishments Queen Kyiv, Virgin Izakaya Bar, Eshak, Not Only Fish, Fish Saw, Queen Country Club, Fish Fet.
Orlov had nothing to do with hostilities and heights of power. He lived in Dubai and wanted to sell a business in Russia. The sanctions lists of the United States and the EU also did not appear.

According to the Telegram channel Shot, the entrepreneur is charged with part 2, paragraph a, b of Art. 165 of the Criminal Code "Causing especially large property damage by an organized group." The publication says that the criminal case against the restaurateur is connected with the scandal with the Black Star Fitness Fitness Club in Moscow City. The landlord Promtekhnok accused the management of the fitness room, which included Orlov, of causing damage by 110 million rubles: they deliberately did not pay the rent and began to build the pool without approval. Now the sports club is closed and in the process of bankruptcy.
Alla Bondarenko, general manager of TanukiFamily, assured that Orlov's wanted list would not affect the operation of restaurants.
In June 2022, Alexander Orlov sold his shares in all companies related to TanukiFamily brands. The new owners are non-public. "Tanuki" is a franchise, so each restaurant has a different partner. At the end of September 2023, the newspaper wrote that Orlov sold 33.3% stakes in three companies - Tanuki, Tanuki-Krasnodar and Tanuki-N. Novgorod. The assets were transferred to businessman Andrei Askerko. These companies own six Tanuki restaurants in To Moscow,, and Moscow area Krasnodar , the Nizhny Novgorod publication specified.
