On July 19, 2022, the Fomin Clinic network announced the introduction of an AI service for checking medical records. The development of the technology was carried out jointly with the Doctor Nearby company, more than 50 million rubles were invested in the project.
After the start of using artificial intelligence, the company's management was able to objectify the treatment data for each doctor and point-wise build the process of training personnel, explained Dmitry Fomin, founder of the Fomin Clinic. According to him, at the start of the project, some regional branches demonstrated an average assessment of the quality of medical care of 25 points. After the introduction of AI, the indicator reached 82 points, which means that diagnoses and treatment tactics comply with the requirements of clinical guidelines and guidelines of specialized foreign communities.
Artificial intelligence helps to check more cards than our doctors can check manually, says Tatyana Rumyantseva, medical director of the Fomina Clinic network. According to her, the verification of patients' medical histories by doctors totals 13,856 cards (by July 19, 2022), and AI checked 214,490 cards over the same time period. The main achievement, which is according to both experts and AI data, the average score for filling out patient cards is 80 points.
It is noted that all patient cards that fall on the quality verification portal are impersonal. The expert team does not see either the name of the physician or the name of the patient, only the complete information contained in the patient's card, which was recorded after the examination. This is done for the most objective assessment
When developing and testing artificial intelligence, he was provided with the results of checking cards from experts so that he understood which cards should be rated for the highest score, and which ones need to be finalized. Double checking helps to remove the human factor and more effectively monitor the quality of work of doctors.
Every month, each doctor receives the results of the assessment of all their cards, it does not matter whether they were rated at 100 points or there were errors in them. The doctor may discuss the shortcomings at a meeting with an expert who is responsible for a specific clinic or specialty. After that, the specialist can undergo free training on a given topic, if necessary.
