2022: Building an IT Company

The First Freight Company (PGK) has created its own IT company, which became known in July 2022. The new legal entity of the railway operator is called PGK Digital LLC.

According to data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, cited by Interfax, PGK Digital was registered on July 18, 2022, 99% of the company owns PGK, 1% of Staltrans JSC.

The PGK said that the new company will specialize in the development and implementation of digital products and software for client and internal IT solutions of the company.

By the end of July 2022, the PGK portfolio includes over 150 IT and digital projects, as well as the company's own solutions in the field of transport logistics, as well as adapted solutions of large IT market players.

The structure of the entire "First Freight Company" has 14 branches serving customers on the railway network almost throughout Russia. In the territories of Finland and Kazakhstan, the interests of PGK are represented by Freight One Scandinavia Ltd and PGK-Central Asia LLP. In the management of PGK - over 100 thousand cars.

According to RIA Novosti, by July 2022, PGK sold its entire fleet of universal platforms, completely leaving this segment. After that, it became known about the creation of its own IT company.

Entrepreneurs, private and state organizations from the spring of 2022 began to massively register IT companies, even if they had not previously been engaged in software development. In June 2022, the register of IT companies accredited under the Ministry of Digital Industry was replenished with 1200 new organizations, and since March it has included more than 11,800 legal entities - this is about 43% of the total list that the department has been maintaining since 2008. The creation of an IT company will allow you to receive new benefits approved by the government.^[1]
