2022: Announcement of the development of a medical decision support system
On August 5, 2022, MEDSI announced that together with schoolchildren participating in the program "Big Challenges" at the Sirius Educational Center - develops a system medical decision-making support, which helps the physician at the appointment using artificial intelligence to identify the first signs of cardiovascular disease in the patient.
According to the company, cardiovascular pathologies are a socially significant problem of the population and one of the main causes of mortality around the world. According to 2022, about 600 people per 100 thousand population die annually from heart and vascular diseases in Russia. Almost a third are people of working age. The low level of public awareness of risk factors for heart and vascular diseases and the lack of early diagnosis are among the reasons for this situation.
The MEDSI Group of Companies, represented by the partner of the Big Challenges program of the Sirius Educational Center, invited schoolchildren, within the framework of the Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Financial Technologies and Machine Learning direction, to develop a case "Intelligent Assistant to the Doctor in Decoding Analyzes" and train artificial intelligence to identify the first signs of cardiovascular disease in the patient, as well as symptoms of heart and vascular pathology in the active phase.
The scientific and technological program "Big Challenges" was launched at the Sirius Educational Center on the federal territory "Sirius" from July 1 to 24, 2022, and in two weeks five students of the MEDSI team marked and analyzed a data set of 500,000 lines with analyzes of real patients and on its basis trained artificial intelligence, which became the basis of a medical application. Neuronet predicts the disease with a probability of 50-60%, by the end of the program the guys strive to achieve 80% accuracy. After the young developers teach the mathematical model, they will begin developing the doctor's web interface, where it will be convenient for a specialist to download test data and immediately get the result.
Our project team aims to solve the medical problem using Data science methods. For August 2022, this is a very relevant topic, since MEDSI has a significant amount of data on patient health and aims to benefit from this data. In fact, the participants are developing a "smart assistant," which, on the one hand, will show the patient potentially problem areas of the body, on the other, will focus the doctor's attention on them, and all this is based on data processing using neural networks. From a technical point of view, the solution created by the team is an information and technical complex consisting of a web application and machine learning algorithms built into it. MEDSI employees actively interact with the team and are interested in the project continuing development and active practical application after the end of the shift. noted Alexander Pilipchuk, Director for Digital Transformation, Member of the Board of MEDSI Group of Companies |
As medicine increasingly goes into digitalization, the digital project "Intelligent Assistant to the Doctor in Decoding Analyzes" will become a strong case for the team and help the guys get acquainted with the promising field of artificial intelligence in medicine.
MEDSI introduces innovations, modern solutions and technologies into clinical practice. These are health startups that are changing traditional models of the provision and consumption of medical services, modern digital services, and artificial intelligence systems are increasingly being used. One of the key MEDSI projects is the SmartMed telemedicine service, which combines a set of solutions for the patient.
In particular, the capabilities of artificial intelligence in MEDSI are used to decrypt images within the framework of the work of reference centers. The ability to determine with an accuracy of 0.1% the volume of damage, for example, the lungs using the service "Third Opinion" allows you to reliably assess the dynamics of the disease, which means that it is time to prescribe treatment tactics for the patient's speedy recovery. In order to optimize remote examination, the MUSE cardiac information system has been introduced in the MEDSI clinics. The program ensures seamless communication of data to doctors, allows you to quickly decide on further treatment of the patient, helps to avoid expensive errors in the diagnosis and automates the workflow for proper customer service.
It is assumed that the project "Intellectual Assistant to the Doctor in Decoding Analyzes" will receive its further practical continuation in the MEDSI clinics and will become an additional tool in the work of therapists, cardiologists and other specialists.

startups SberZ, prize winner of the Higher Test team olympiad, prize to programming winner of the Higher Test olympiad on the basics of business, prize winner of the Mission Doable olympiad in mathematics. I am very glad that I got into the project of the MEDSI team. In two weeks, we have already tried ourselves as designers and data analysts, got acquainted with various machine learning models, learned to vividly present our project and answer questions. We also immersed ourselves in the world of medicine, learned what data medical analyzes are made of, and how they are processed by information systems. I am sure that soon our project will be able to help many doctors with the diagnosis.}}
In 2022, for the first time, MEDSI became a partner in our project, offering schoolchildren the urgent task of developing a service for processing medical analyzes. It should become an intellectual assistant for doctors of their organization and in the future find application in the work of clinics. As part of the implementation of projects during our program, children acquire many additional competencies: the ability to get results through existing knowledge and plan work, team interaction skills and much, much more. told Andrey Raigorodsky, Head of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Financial Technologies and Machine Learning at the Sirius Educational Center |
