2022: Oncologist in Omsk received a sentence for theft of an expensive drug

In August 2022, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Omsk sentenced a 54-year-old resident of the city to commit a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a person using his official position, on an especially large scale).

According to the Prosecutor's Office of the Omsk Region, the court found that the defendant in the case, working in May 2020 - January 2021 at the Clinical Oncological Dispensary, stole 9 packages of an expensive drug totaling more than 1.3 million rubles.

The woman made inaccurate information in the medical documentation on the issuance of medicine to the patient, which the latter refused for health reasons.

She did not admit guilt in the committed crime. The court sentenced her to 3 years of suspended imprisonment, with a probationary period of 1 year 6 months, as well as a fine of 900 thousand rubles.

Also, the verdict preserved the arrest on the funds of the convict in the amount of 900 thousand rubles before paying the fine.[1]
